Super Mario Bros film: Cast, plot, trailer, and release date

Super Mario Bros fans have been anticipating the release of the eponymous film since it was first announced in September 2021.

Now, they’ve been given a glimpse into what they should expect from the upcoming Nintendomovie with the first full-length trailer.

The Super Mario Bros film boasts a star-studded cast that will portray beloved characters like Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach.

The Super Mario Bros film sees Mario team up with Princess Peach to try to rescue his brother Luigi from the evil Bowser.

Guardians of the Galaxy’s Chris Pratt will star as Mario, while Charlie Day, of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, will play his brother, Luigi.

The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy will be the voice of Princess Peach, while School of Rock and Shallow Hal actor Jack Black will play Bowser.

Keegan-Michael Key, of Key and Peele, will be the voice of Toad, and Superbad star Seth Rogen will play Donkey Kong.

Cranky Kong will be voiced by Fred Armisen, with Sebastian Maniscalco playing Spike.

The Super Mario Bros film was due to be released in December 2022 but the release date has been pushed to April 2023.

The first full-length trailer for the Super Mario Bros film was released on November 30.

The two-minute clip sees Mario face off with Donkey Kong, while Luigi has been captured by Bowser. Mario then summons his friends Princess Peach and Toad as they go on an adventure to save his brother.

Famous sights from the Mario universe feature in the trailer, like Rainbow Road, Bowser’s Castle, and Mushroom Kingdom.

Iconic Mario characters also appear in the trailer, like Cheep Cheeps, Koopas, Bob-ombs, and Shy Guy.
