Super League reveals early-season plan for Catalans Dragons home games

Super League has confirmed that Catalans Dragons’ early-season home games will be shown live on Sky Sports after a broadcast agreement was reached with beIN SPORTS.

The arrangement between Sky Sports, the Dragons and the French broadcaster will initially see the club’s first five home games being screened, starting with the match against Salford Red Devils on April 17.

Fans of Warrington Wolves, St Helens, Wigan Warriors and Leeds Rhinos will also be able to see their sides take on Catalans in Perpignan live on Sky Sports.

Super League is set to continue behind closed doors until at least May and restrictions over foreign travel are still in place.

Dragons chairman Bernard Guasch said: “I would like to thank our broadcast partner Sky Sports for understanding the need to broadcast the competition, and in particular our club, on a French channel.

“The return of beIN SPORTS is excellent news for our fans and sponsors, who will be able to follow our games in France and England during this difficult period, regardless of the protocols in the stadiums. Media exposure was an essential subject for our sponsors and I believe that we have met their expectations with this agreement.

“It will be a significant financial investment for the club, but the end justifies the means. I would like to thank all the people involved in this negotiation, in Perpignan, Paris, London and Manchester.”

Catalans’ home games were not televised last year, with the exception of a few appearances on the French channel L'Équipe.
