Wigan Warriors full-back Bevan French is the bookmakers’ favourite to top the Super League tryscoring charts next year.
French struggled for game time last season as injury restricted him to just five appearances under Adrian Lam.
However, in his 33 appearances in cherry and white, the Australian has touched down on 24 occasions and the bookies are backing him to bounce back strongly and make a real impact in the 2022 campaign.
They’ve installed him as the favourite to be the top tryscorer with Sporting Index offering odds of 10/1, while he is at 14/1 to win the Man of Steel award with the same bookmaker.
Tom Davies, Fouad Yaha, Regan Grace, Ash Handley, Liam Marshall, and Super League newcomer David Fusitu’a are all considered second favourites to be top tryscorer with odds of 12/1.
French’s team-mate Jake Bibby is amongst those priced at 14/1, alongside Matty Ashton, Tom Johnstone and Hull KR’s Ryan Hall.
Ken Sio was the most prolific player in the competition last season, touching down for 19 tries in total and he’s at 16/1 to repeat the feat after penning a new deal with Salford Red Devils.
Tommy Makinson is also at 16/1, while Hull FC winger Adam Swift and Warrington Wolves man Josh Charnley are at 18/1.
