Super-generous Edinburgh Day-Today staff provide free hand sanitiser to NHS staff and elderly

Those at a super-generous Edinburgh convenience store are behind yet another fantastic gesture – less than a month after they went viral for creating vital 'coronavirus packs' for the elderly.

The team at Day-Today Drylaw have announced they are now giving away free hand sanitiser gel sachets to those needing them most – NHS workers, carers and elderly people.

In a post on their Facebook page they revealed they had blue sachets sitting behind the counter and urged customers to just ask for them if they are needing them.

They said: "Free hand sanitiser gel sachets can be used up to 4-5 times a day available for all NHS workers, all carers and our elderly customers. Please ask for them as they are sitting behind the counter."

Edinburgh Live reported in March how those at the store had created helpful 'coronavirus pack s' containing toilet roll, antibacterial handwash, paracetamol and pocket tissues for their most vulnerable customers.

These packs were free to local elderly residents aged 65 and over, with staff even offering to deliver them for free if customers were unable to make it into the shop.
