Super filly Laurens can beat the boys in the Lockinge at Newbury

Laurens can enhance punters' fortunes by landing the Lockinge at Newbury today.

Karl Burke's filly enjoyed a fantastic campaign last year, winning four Group 1s against her own sex, and she looks very capable of adding one against the boys here.

Among those victories was the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown when she defeated the brilliant Alpha Centauri, who was retired afterwards due to an injury picked up in the race.

The ex-Andre Fabre-trained Le Brivido is an interesting contender in just his second run for Aidan O'Brien, but Laurens looks the pick of the bunch.

She is a proven Group 1 performer and can gain her sixth success at this level for trainer Burke with PJ McDonald back on board after missing her last two successes through injury.

Elsewhere on the card, it's impossible to see anything but another victory for Crystal Ocean in the Al Rayyan Stakes.

Weekend betting tips: Four bets that could make you a fortune

He was impressive in his seasonal return in the Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown and landed this race last year.

He'll go off at a short price but should not be beaten for the powerful team of Sir Michael Stoute and Ryan Moore.

Joker On Jack is a fascinating runner in a later race on the card - the Olympic Glory Conditions Stakes.

He will be American trainer Wesley Ward's first ever runner at Newbury after scoring at Keeneland on his debut and with Frankie Dettori on board, he should go very close.

Meanwhile, Willie Mullins sends a very strong team to France this weekend for racing at Auteuil.

Telecaster beats Too Darn Hot to earn 5-1 Derby quote

The Irish champion trainer runs five in the Grande Course de Haies d'Auteuil, the French Champion Hurdle - Benie Des Dieux, Melon, Yorkhill, Bapaume and Mr Adjudicator.

And Benie Des Dieux looks the pick of them following her win in the Annie Power Mares' Champion Hurdle when last seen at Punchestown.

That came after she would have been successful at the Cheltenham Festival if she didn't fall at the last when well clear in the Mares' Hurdle.

Lah Ti Dar hits the high notes - but not without a fight

On Sunday, Burrows Saint looks to follow up his Irish Grand National success in the Grand Steeple Chase de Paris.

Again Mullins runs five with Rathvinden, Pleasant Company, Acapella Bourgeois and Total Recall also taking their chances.

But back Burrow to be a Saint again after his emphatic win at Fairyhouse.

Bet of the weekend - Burrows Saint - 3.25 Auteuil Sunday 5/1

This six-year-old can once again be a Saint for punters after his impressive Irish National win. Ruby may have departed the saddle since, but back Paul Townend to steer him to victory again.
