Supercomputer predicts Luke Campbell vs Vasyl Lomachenko result

Vasyl Lomachenko will stop Luke Campbell in the eighth round - according to a leading bookmaker.

The Ukrainian superstar will bid to add a third lightweight world title to the two he already owns on Saturday night.

Standing in his way is fellow amateur standout Campbell who is bidding to become world champion for the first time.

Lomachenko is the odds-on favourite to prevail in front of a sold-out, 18,000-strong O2 arena crowd.

And spread betting firm Sporting Index have run the numbers on their supercomputer and expect a stoppage in the second half of the fight.

Head of trading Neville Burdock said: "We expect spectators to get their money’s worth on what looks set to be a cracking night of boxing at the O2 on Saturday.

"Though Luke Campbell looks up against it and Vasiliy Lomachenko is the bookie’s favourite, we still think there’ll be a hard-fought eight rounds of boxing before Campbell caves in."

Lomachenko won all but one of his 397 amateur fights, picking up two Olympic gold medals along the way.

He won a professional world title in just his third professional fight and has since pocketed belts in a further two divisions.

The 31-year-old plans to become the undisputed lightweight champion, but could then retire."It's one of my goals and dream to put my name in boxing history," he said this week.

"That's why I started a pro career and fought for a world title in my second fight. I'm the fastest three-weight world champion, so I do everything for legacy.

"My motivation, my goal, is four titles. After, I don't know what happens. Now it's two more belts."
