The biggest game of the year is here. Super Bowl LIV features the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. It is also the biggest event for gambling of the year.
If you want some skin in the game, here are picks for the game, both on the money line, against the spread and the point totals. Additionally, what are some player prop bets to get some action on?
Money line
The Chiefs are favored at -121. The underdog 49ers are +105 — almost even money.
I like the Chiefs to win outright. On the money line, a $10 bet will win $8.26 in profit.
If you bet the 49ers on the money line at +105, a $10 bet will win you $10.50.
My money would be on the Chiefs -121.
Against the spread
The Chiefs are favored at -1.5 points (-106). With so small a spread, it is basically a pick’em game. I see a game in which the Chiefs pull ahead but the 49ers rally back. In the end, though, the Chiefs win by three.
Take the Chiefs at -1.5.
Over/under
The total is set at 53.5 points. Both teams score a lot of points. San Francisco’s defense is tremendous, but this is against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.
Not only will this game go over the total, both teams will be over 30 points.
Hit the OVER (-106).

Coin toss
This is truly a coin flip.
The odds are HEADS -104 and TAILS -104.
Pick the one you want and hope for the best.

Jimmy Garoppolo’s passing yards
You can go a couple of directions with this.
There are four lines set.
- Over 238.5 (-112), Under 238.5 (-112)
- Over 200.5 (-250), Under 200.5 (+195)
- Over 300.5 (+330), Under 300.5 (-435)
- Over 350.5 (+1000), Under 350.5 (-2500)
The safest best is to go with the Over 200.5 at -250. You still win something, albeit not a lot.
I say the 49ers have to come back and throw the ball a lot. Garoppolo goes for over 300 yards, so the bold bet is to go Over 300.5 (+330) for some big money.
Raheem Mostert rushing yards
It is set pretty low.
- Over 60.5 (-182)
- Under 60.5 (+150)
I’m taking the Under here. Aside from two big games, he has had fewer than 60 yards in most games. Tevin Coleman will play and I think the 49ers will have to throw the ball more, taking Mostert’s chances away.
Patrick Mahomes passing yards
There are multiple lines here, like for Garoppolo.
- Over 295.5 (-125), Under 295.5 (+100)
- Over 350.5 (+210), Under 350.5 (-278)
- Over 400.5 (+600), Under 400.5 (-1000)
San Francisco’s pass defense has been incredible. Because I believe the Chiefs will jump out early, they will be able to run the ball more. I’m taking Under 295.5 (+100).
There are, of course, many more, but these are the bets I am looking at.
