Super Bowl: Maroon 5 upstaged by gospel choir at halftime show

The verdict might be lukewarm on Maroon 5's Super Bowl halftime show, but one part of their set has been praised for, ironically, upstaging them.

Fonrtman Adam Levine, who performed tracks including "Harder To Breathe" and "This Love", was backed by a gospel choir who many viewers pointed out would have made for a better halftime show fixture than tha main acts. The choir joined the band for a rendition of their 2018 song "Girls Like You".

While some felt the gospel choir was unecessary, hordes of social media users heaped heir praise upon the singers - especially one in particular who made Levine and collaborators Travis Scott and Big Boi pale in comparison.

TIME called this singer "a bright beam of light that infused the show with energy".

This year's Super Bowl, which saw New England patriots beat Los Angeles Ram in Atlanta, featured several trailers for forthcoming films.

Marvel released a 30-second teaser trailer for Avengers: Endgame, a film so secret that it seems the studio digitally edited characters out of certain shots.
