The Weeknd became the latest in a long line of high-end music artists to take the stage for the halftime show of the Super Bowl.
The 30-year-old Canadian musician, real name Abel Tesfaye, appeared at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, during the contest between Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He kicked off his set in a floating black convertible, surrounded by flashing neon signs as he belted out the lyrics to his most famous hits, wearing a red sequin suit jacket, and black shirt and trousers, reports Daily Star.
He then disappeared offstage holding the camera as he entered a maze of lights and mirrors where he was joined by a troupe of dancers wearing face coverings.
But fans were complaining that the chaotic camera movement during his performance made it feel like the room was spinning.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "@theweeknd I almost got sick in the mirror room."
A second person posted: "Why am I motion sick from watching @theweeknd perform?"
While a third viewer said: "Is The Weeknd trying to get people motion sick? He has a secret deal with Tide to get hot wing vomit out of jerseys?"
And: "Dude the beginning of @theweeknd halftime show literally made me feel motion sick wtf lol," said a fourth.
But other fans didn't seem to be distracted by the filming as one person said: "@theweeknd performance on the #SuperBowl half time show was INSANE."
Whilst another wrote: "I feel genuinely happy for The Weeknd. What a moment for him. Soak it in Abellll #SuperBowl #TheWeeknd."
A third person also added: "Probably the only halftime I've ever enjoyed! #HalfTimeShow #SuperBowl @theweeknd."
The Weeknd performed a medley of his most famous songs such as Blinding Lights, The Hills, Earned It and Starboy.
He became the first Canadian singer-songwriter to headline solo during the prestigious halftime slot, following on from the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, Maroon 5 with Big Boi and Travis Scott, and Lazy Gaga.
