One of the perils of having a huge social media following is that when you make a mistake there is absolutely no hiding it.
This was a lesson Taraji P. Henson was taught on Sunday after somehow confusing Coldplay for Maroon 5 during the much hyped Superbowl half-time show as she watched the performance from the stands.
The Empire actress shared her excitement at seeing ‘Maroon 5’ in an Instagram post, which was spotted by eagle-eyed lead singer Adam Levine, who helpfully exacerbated her embarrassment by sharing a screen-shot of it on his own page.
“Maroon 5 is life to me! #SuperBowl50 #HappyCamper,” she wrote, before the internet descended on her with tweets breaking the news about who she was actually watching.
However, Henson recovered well from the blunder by dealing with the mistake graciously.
