Super Bowl 2024: 5 things to know about Usher ahead of his Super Bowl halftime show

The Super Bowl halftime show this year is going to be a spectacular performance.

How do I know that you ask? Well, it’s simple: It’s Usher. The R&B legend is performing at halftime of the 2024 Super Bowl this year, and he’s only ever given us spectacular performances throughout his career. We should expect no different for this game.

This dude is an R&B legend who has been performing in front of big audiences for the majority of the last 30 years. There’s plenty to look forward to with his performance coming up, but before we watch him light the Super Bowl stage up there are some things we should know about him and his career.

Here are five things that we should know about Usher ahead of his halftime performance at the 2024 Super Bowl.

We’ve only ever known Usher to be a talented singer and dancer. When he was just 13 years old, he appeared on Star Search and blew everyone away.

It was good enough for music executive L.A. Reid to sign Usher to LaFace Records.

Even then, you could see the stage presence.

Usher’s self-titled debut album was released in 1994. It wasn’t the critically acclaimed hit that many of his other albums were following this initial release, which is probably what you’d expect for a debut album. Especially one coming from a 15-year-old (!!!!).

He has eight solo studio albums

Usher’s eight solo albums span across three decades with his latest one (Hard II Love) coming in 2016.

Confessions, which might be Usher’s most critically acclaimed album, came in 2004 featuring songs like “Yeah!” and “Confessions Part II,” which are two of the R&B legend’s most popular songs today. The album has amassed more than 10 million copies sold in its lifetime.

Usher will soon have an album out in a fourth decade. He’s releasing another album called Coming Home on February 9 ahead of his Super Bowl performance.

Here’s a look at the tracklist:

That’s a smart move considering the streaming boost artists usually get from performing at the Super Bowl. This album should do well.

He also announced a tour following the album’s release and the Super Bowl. The timing is impeccable.

Alright. You’re caught up to speed now. That’s everything you should know about Usher and his upcoming performance.

We’re watching a legend, folks. Enjoy it.
