Super Bowl LIV is thus far living up to its ‘too close to call’ billing, as the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers reached half-time tied at 10-10.
It was the 49ers who went ahead through a Robbie Gould field goal, but Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes scored the first touchdown of the night before Harrison Butker extended the lead with a field goal of his own.
Mahomes’ opposite number, Jimmy Garoppolo, had a difficult start to the night, throwing an interception at the start of the second quarter.
But returning to the run game that has been so successful in recent weeks, the 49ers launched an 80-yard drive that saw Kyle Juszczyk go over.
