Amazon Alexa users have been trying out a new command on their smart speakers.
The Mirror has revealed how to activate ‘Super Alexa Mode’ - and the new trick is particularly popular with retro gaming fans.
The command is inspired by classic cheat codes from the gaming company Konami which were used on the iconic Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) - a console first released in 1983.
The trick is achieved by saying a number of commands one after the other.
Yu must say: “Alexa, up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start.”
Your Alexa will then respond: "Super Alexa mode, activated. Starting reactors, online. Enabling advanced systems, online.
"Raising dongers. Error. Dongers missing. Aborting.”
The command refers to the buttons you press on the NES controller to activate the Konami code in certain video games.
Unfortunately, Alexa's response doesn't actually endow the smart assistant with any new capabilities, and is just a trick to bring joy to gaming fans.
