It was a round for the young guns in Newcastle Herald Women's Premier League last weekend.
Fifteen-year-old Sunny Mitchell scored her first goal in first grade after coming off the bench for Broadmeadow against Mid Coast at Magic Park on Saturday.
Mitchell is in Magic's 17s squad and has been used by first-grade coach Jake Curley on a handful of occasions this campaign.
"She's a good player and I want to try to give some of the girls exposure and it was good for her to score a goal," Curley said.

**Warners Bay 15-year-old Sophie Cook made her starting debut in the top grade as a last-minute replacement for former W-League player Tara Pender, who lives in Sydney and was ruled out due to NSW COVID-19 restrictions. Cook started alongside twin sister Mia and older siblings Elly and Georgia in the Panthers side, who went down 1-0 to Adamstown at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility.
Adamstown's Maddy Campbell, also 15, was given her first-grade starting debut in similar fashion after Leia Puxty and Jemma Lawson were ruled out due to COVID-19 restrictions.

**Leading the race for the 2021 Herald WPL player of the year after 13 rounds were, in no particular order, Elodie Dagg (Warners Bay), Tamara Nash (Azzurri), Bronte Peel (Maitland), Nadja Squires (Magic) and Kiarra Lewis (Adamstown).
**Hunter Sports High's opens girls' team beat Bossley Park 10-0 in the NSW Sports High round robin and their Bill Turner (under 15) girls are through to the regional final after a 12-0 win against San Clemente High School Mayfield.
