Sunflower Trophy meeting cancelled due to coronavirus pandemic

This year's Sunflower Trophy meeting has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The annual short circuit event was due to be held at Bishopscourt in Co Down on October 23-24.

But like many motorcycling events it has been cancelled amid the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.

In a statement, the organising Hillsborough Club expressed their "great regret" at the cancellation, but said they would return stronger in 2021.

“Due to the Cov-19 situation there will be no 2020 Sunflower meeting," the said in a statement.

"Can I thank all sponsors, riders, medical, timekeepers, scrutineers, race control, flag personnel, and all marshals.

"We look forward to 2021 where we will be back bigger than ever, and thank Bishopscourt Circuit.”
