Sunderland vs Rotherham United team news as Tony Mowbray names unchanged XI

Tony Mowbray has named an unchanged line-up for his first game as Sunderland manager. Despite the 1-0 defeat to Norwich City on Saturday, the new boss has opted against ringing the changes ahead of a big night of action at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats aim to get back to winning ways on home soil after a disappointing loss at the weekend. Mowbray has stuck with Alex Neil's 3-5-2 system instead of reverting to his accustomed 4-3-3 setup that worked wonders while in charge of Blackburn Rovers.

Millers' boss Paul Warne has made three changes from the team that brushed aside Birmingham City 2-0 at the weekend, with Shane Ferguson, Wes Harding and Lee Peltier coming in for Grant Hall, Cameron Humphreys and Cohen Brammall
