Sunderland vs Plymouth team news as Lee Johnson names unchanged side once again

Lee Johnson named the same starting XI for a fourth successive league game as Sunderland took on Plymouth Argyle at the Stadium of Light.

Johnson stuck with the same side that beat Morecambe 5-0 in midweek, and had previously drawn against Oxford and won at Cambridge.

On Tuesday, Sunderland played with a back four with Bailey Wright at right-back and Lynden Gooch on the left, but they also had the option of switching to a back three which is a system they have previously played with the same personnel.

The subs bench also remained the same this afternoon.

Newly-appointed Plymouth boss Steven Schumacher made two changes to the side that drew at MK Dons on Wednesday night.

Danny Mayor and Jordan Garrick came into the starting XI in place of Luke Jephcott and Conor Grant.
