Sunderland vs Lincoln City team news - Leadbitter returns to starting line-up

Lee Johnson made two changes to the side that started the midweek win at Accrington Stanley.

Callum McFadzean came back into the side in place of Jake Vokins at left-back.

And Grant Leadbitter returned in midfield, with Jack Diamond making way.

Diamond was included on the Black Cats bench but Vokins dropped out of the matchday squad altogether, presumably due to injury.

Striker Ross Stewart, who came on as a substitute at Accrington and scored on his debut, was also on the bench once again.

Lincoln boss Michael Appleton made one change, in his case to the side that lost at home to Gillingham on Tuesday night.

Cohen Bramall came into the starting XI, with the injured Tom Hopper missing out. Former Sunderland midfielder Liam Bridcutt started for the Imps.
