Sunderland strikers Will Grigg, Charlie Wyke and Marc McNulty are considered among the front-runners to win the League One golden boot this term.
In an example of the strength the Black Cats have, Grigg is considered fourth favourite overall, with Wyke and McNulty joint sixth, according to Ladbrokes' market - which is fairly reflective of most bookmakers' markets for League One top goalscorer ahead of the new campaign.
The odds come despite a difficult pre-season for Sunderland's front men - with Jack Ross' side failing to score in three of their four public friendlies against Benfica B, Belenenses and Heerenveen.
Both Grigg and Wyke failed to impress over the summer having also failed to get fans excited in their first seasons at the Stadium of Light as the Black Cats missed out on promotion after a play-off final defeat to Charlton.
To bolster his attacking options, Ross has added McNulty, on loan from Reading, and he looked bright from the bench in his first appearance against Dutch Eredivisie side Heerenveen on Saturday.
And to add further encouragement, he then notched a hat-trick on Monday in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Hartlepool United. Sunderland won 5-2, with Aiden McGeady and Chris Maguire also finding the net.
McNulty's showing might provide some hope for Black Cats fans who can back the 26-year-old at 16/1 to win the golden boot this term after a disappointing debut campaign at Reading.
Overall favourite is Ipswich Town striker James Norwood. He's joined the Tractor Boys after netting 32 goals for Tranmere last term as they earned promotion from League Two. The 28-year-old has scored four goals in pre-season.
Also ahead of Grigg in the bookmakers' opinion are Doncaster's John Marquis and Peterborough's Mo Eisa, both of whom are former Sunderland targets.
