Sunderland will learn their first-round opponents for both the Carabao Cup and Papa John's Trophy on the same day as their League One fixtures are released.
Schedules for the Championship, League One and League Two will be released at 9am on Thursday.
Now, the EFL has confirmed the draws for both cup competitions will be broadcast live on Sky Sports later the same day.
Sunderland will be entered into the northern section of the Carabao Cup's first-round draw, with a total of 35 fixtures to be decided.
Matches are scheduled to take place during the week commencing August 9. However, clubs are able to mutually agree an alternative date between July 31 and August 4.
That draw will be broadcast from 3.40pm on Sky Sports.
Sunderland will then discover who they will launch their defence of the Papa John's Trophy against in the opening group stage.
Lee Johnson's side ended the Black Cats' Wembley hoodoo with a 1-0 triumph over Tranmere Rovers in March.
The competition will again be broken into northern and southern section, with the aim to reduce travel time and maximise potential recovery time for players.
Sunderland will be one of 48 EFL clubs placed into pre-determined groups, with the remaining 16 spots filled by invited U21 teams from the Premier League.
The Papa Johns' Trophy draw will be broadcast live on Sky Sports from 4.30pm.
