Sunderland will face Lincoln City and Bradford in the Papa John's Trophy group stages next season.
The Black Cats will find out the remaining member of Group F tomorrow when the remaining eight teams are drawn.
Lee Johnson's side are the current holders of the competition having ended their Wembley hoodoo against Tranmere Rovers in March.

They're no strangers to one of their opponents in the group - having defeated Lincoln City in the semi-final of the competition, before the Imps got their own back in the play-offs.
League Two side Bradford City will be hoping for a more successful season under new manager Derek Adams, who left recently promoted Morecambe to join the Bantams.
The final place in the group will compromise of one of the following sides; Manchester City U21s, Everton U21s, Leeds United U21s, Newcastle United U21s, Manchester United U21s, Liverpool U21s, Leicester U21s or Wolverhampton Wanderers U21s.

The Round One draw will take place live on Sky Sports at 4:30pm.
Matches are scheduled to take place during the week commencing August 9. However, clubs are able to mutually agree an alternative date between July 31 and August 4.

The eight winners and eight runners up of the north and south group stages qualify for the round of 32
The round of 32 pairings are determined by means of a draw whereby the winner of a group will be drawn at home and will play a runner up of a group from the same region, but not from the same group.
The competition remains regionalised up until the Quarter Finals whereby all teams will be free to play one another.
