Sunderland's trip to Coventry chosen for live television coverage

Sunderland's upcoming trip to Coventry has been selected for live TV coverage.

The Black Cats were initially supposed to travel to the Midlands on Saturday, February 29, but the match will now take place on Sunday, March 1, with kick-off at 12pm.

Sky Sports will broadcast the fixture on their Football channel with the two sides well in the hunt to win promotion from the division.

Coventry currently sit two places and three points above the Black Cats in the League One table and both sides have two games in hand over second placed Wycombe Wanderers in the race for automatic promotion.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw earlier in the season at the Stadium of Light, while Black Cats duo Lee Burge and Jordan Willis will return to face their former side away from home for the first time.

In a statement, the club confirmed that ticketing information will be released in due course, and supporters are reminded that the fixture will be played at Birmingham City’s St Andrew’s Stadium as opposed to Coventry's Ricoh Arena.
