Sunderland's EFL Trophy semi-final date with Lincoln City has now been confirmed

Sunderland's EFL Trophy semi-final against Lincoln City has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 17.

The Black Cats will take on the League One leaders at the Stadium of Light, with the game - which kicks-off at 6pm - televised live on Sky Sports.

Sunderland beat MK Dons 3-0 at stadium:mk last week to win through to the semi-finals, while Lincoln defeated Hull City in a penalty shootout at the KC Stadium to reach the last four.

Sunderland are looking to book their place in the final of the competition for the second time in three seasons, after losing to Portsmouth in a penalty shoot-out at Wembley in 2019.

Lincoln's last appearance in the final came in 2018, when they beat Shrewsbury Town to lift the Trophy - their first cup win in any competition.

The other semi-final sees League One Oxford United entertain League Two Tranmere Rovers at the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday, February 16, with that game also kicking off at 6pm and televised live on Sky Sports.
