Sunderland's boardroom reshuffle confirmed after Kyril Louis-Dreyfus' takeover

Sunderland's boardroom reshuffle following Kyril Louis-Dreyfus' protracted takeover has been confirmed.

The new owner has been appointed as a Black Cats director in Companies House documents released on Tuesday, with former owner Stewart Donald no longer listed.

Sunderland's former chief executive Jim Rodwell - whose departure from the Stadium of Light was announced on Friday - is also no longer listed.

The documents also confirm the club have appointed two further directors. Patrick Treuer, the chief financial officer of the Louis Dreyfus Company, and the family's lawyer Igor Levin join the new owner on the club's board.

The boardroom reshuffle is just the latest sweeping change on Wearside since Louis-Dreyfus was confirmed as the club's majority shareholder last week.

A new data-driven approach to recruitment and performance analysis is evident in the job postings for the newly-created roles of head of analysis and data, and a lead data scientist.

Stuart English has been appointed as the Black Cats' head of coaching in what is anticipated to be the first phase of a revamp of the club's academy.

Sporting director Kristjaan Speakman joined Sunderland from Birmingham City in December, and has made English his first external appointment.

Louis-Dreyfus has committed to a £500,000 investment to transform the Stadium of Light pitch into a state-of-the-art playing surface.

Sunderland have also recently upgraded their matchday streaming facilities to four cameras, to give fans at home improved coverage of games.
