Sunderland's Anthony Patterson linked with loan move to Scottish Premiership side

Sunderland's young goalkeeper Anthony Patterson is being linked with a loan move to Scottish Premiership side Hamilton Academical.

Sun journalist Alan Nixon wrote in the print edition of the paper, that the 20-year-old could be heading to Scottish outfit on-loan for the rest of this season.

The Accies are currently struggling in the Scottish Premiership, siting in 11th-place having claimed just 17 points from their opening 18 games.

Nixon believes Patterson could be making journey over the border to help them in their bid for survival.

The academy graduate has made two appearances in the EFL Trophy this season but is yet to make his league debut.

Lee Johnson admitted he was looking forward to working with the keeper ahead of their game against Oldham in the Papa John's trophy.

The youngster is highly rated on Wearside and signed a contract extension in June earlier this year.

It's believed the Black Cats will now loan the 20-year-old out in an attempt to get first team footballl under his belt.
