Sunderland Royal hospital NHS staff in amazing rendition of 'somewhere over the rainbow'

This will put a lump in your throat.

Brave NHS staff in the midst of the Coronavirus crisis taking a break to offer a moment of hope.

This heartwarming video from Sunderland and South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust shows staff singing the classic 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow'.

The song, from The Wizard of Oz, was made famous by Judy Garland.

However the staff make it their own as they drive home the lifesaving message: Stay home, save live

And the clip, posted on YouTube by the Trust, is certainly a hit with the public.

One viewer praised the staff's "beautiful singing" while another added: "Well done everyone - you are true heroes."

To date, over 15,000 British lives have been lost due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

This week the Government confirmed that the current lockdown will continue for at least another three weeks.
