Sunderland reveal new 2020-21 Nike home strip and when it will go on sale

Sunderland have unveiled their new Nike home shirt for the 2020-21 season - with the kit due to go on sale on Monday.

The new shirt, which features Sunderland's traditional red and white stripes on the front and back, includes the club crest and Nike swoosh logo, while the wording 'Ha'way the Lads' is printed inside the neck.

The shirt also bears the name of the club's new main sponsor, Great Annual Savings Group, on the front.

The logo of sponsors Utilita will feature on the back of the shirt, while the Eleven Sports Media logo will be printed on the back of the shorts.

The adult shirt will be priced at £50, with the juniors' priced at £40.

It will initially go on sale online only via the SAFC online store on Monday, August 10.

The new kit marks the start of the club's new kit supply deal with US-based sportswear giant Nike, after eight years with Adidas.

Nike, whose UK base has been located in Sunderland since 1982, will supply kits for the first team, academy sides, and women's team, as well a range of replica shirts and other clothing and training wear for supporters to buy.

Sunderland previously wore Nike kits for four seasons between 2000 and 2004, and for three seasons between 1983 and 1986.

Most recently Sunderland wore Nike shirts when Mick McCarthy's side finished third in the second tier in 2003-04, reaching the First Division play-offs before losing out to Crystal Palace in the two-legged semi-final.
