Sunderland have signed their third player of the day, confirming the season-long loan of Manchester United forward Amad Diallo.
The Black Cats have already announced the permanent arrivals of Edouard Michut and Abdoullah Ba from Paris Saint-German and Le Havre respectively today whilst confirming Tony Mowbray as their new manager yesterday.
Diallo, 20, joined United from Italian outfit Atalanta in January 2021 but has made just nine times for the Red Devils, spending the second-half of last season on loan in Scotland with Europa League finalists Rangers. However, the loan also failed to bear fruit with the youngster scoring three times in 13 appearances.

Upon joining the Wearside outfit, the Ivorian told Sunderland's official website : “I feel good and very positive about this opportunity, so I’m happy to be here. It was a great experience to play with Manchester United, but I’m here for a new challenge and I want to try my best to bring a lot of success to the Club.
"I feel good physically and I think this is the best team for me to progress and although I’ve never been to the Stadium of Light before, I know the supporters are great so I hope we can win many games together.”
Sunderland will be hopeful that the new arrival will be available for selection for Monday night's Tees-Wear Derby at Middlesbrough with the signing announced midway through their meeting with Rotherham United at the Stadium of Light.
