Sunderland loan watch: Jack Baldwin makes his debut as Salford drop points

On-loan Sunderland defender Jack Baldwin made his debut for Salford City this weekend in an action-packed 2-2 draw at Morecambe.

Centre-back Baldwin , who joined the Ammies on deadline day, played the full 90 minutes at the Globe Arena as Salford recorded their fifth successive league draw - although they should have earned their first win since the opening day, after missing two penalty kicks against the Seasiders.

Salford took an early lead at the Globe Arena through Danny Lloyd, and on the half-hour Lloyd hit the crossbar from the penalty spot.

Goals from Morecambe's Shaun Miller and Lewis Alessandra just after half-time turned the game on its head, before Lloyd levelled midway through the second period.

And Salford had another chance to take all three points when Lloyd was brought down inside the penalty area, but this time Richie Towell took the kick and his effort was saved by Barry Roche.

The Ammies have now gone six league games without a win, and sit 15th in the table.

Also in League Two, fellow Sunderland loanee Ethan Robson came off the bench to make his debut in Grimsby Town's 2-0 defeat at Crewe Alexandra.

Tom Lowery and Charlie Kirk scored the goals for Crewe in the second half.

Grimsby are seventh in the table.

Elsewhere, another on-loan Sunderland man Jack Diamond was an unused substitute in Harrogate Town's 4-2 defeat at Torquay.

Town's goals - one of which came from the penalty spot - were scored by former Sunderland man Jon Stead, who was later sent off for a second bookable offence following a controversial handball decision.

Harrogate are 17th in the National League table.
