Sunderland forward Ross Stewart receives Scotland call up following superb season

Sunderland forward Ross Stewart has received another Scotland call up for the side's upcoming bout of both FIFA World Cup Play-off and UEFA Nations League fixtures.

The 25-year-old has enjoyed a superb season both individual and domestically, finding the net a whopping 26 times in total.

Joining from Ross County for an undisclosed fee back in January of last year, the former Celtic youngster will join up with Steve Clarke's side ahead of their crucial World Cup play-off game against Ukraine, as well as the start of their UEFA Nations League campaign.

With Alex Neil's side achieving promotion back to England's second tier too just days ago, Stewart netted in front of a rapturous Wembley Stadium.

The Tartan Army are bidding to reach this year's 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with rivals England lying in wait in Group B. Stewart was, of course, called up as a late replacement for Clarke's side back in March due to injuries elsewhere, but is yet to play competitively for his country.
