A fire starter torched nine cars in a campaign of arson which left a £57,000 trail of destruction and put lives at risk.
Kenneth Sherrington randomly set fire to vehicles in his local area while walking his lurcher dog.
Several cars were written off, including one belonging to a disabled man, who also lost his wheelchair in the blaze on New Year's Eve.

Newcastle Crown Court heard the arson attacks happened in Sunderland between November 26 2019 and January 6 2020.
On November 26, Sherrington torched a Peugeot and a Suzuki outside neighbouring properties in the early hours of the morning, writing them both off.

On December 3, he set fire to a a VW Transporter, causing £1,000 of damage.
On December 31, he set fire to a Citroen at around 4.30am.
Claire Anderson, prosecuting, said: "The heat was scorching the door of the house.
"The victim tried to put it out but was unable to do so with buckets of water. That vehicle was written off."
Ten minutes later, he set fire to a Seat Leon nearby.
Miss Anderson said: "The victim is registered disabled and uses a wheelchair which was in the car at the time. That car was a write off."
In the early hours of January 2, a Nissan, Citroen and Vauxhall van were set alight and were all written off.
Then on January 6 a Vauxhall Vivaro van belonging to a joiner who had recently become self-employed was destroyed in another blaze.
Police identified Sherrington as the culprit from CCTV, including one clip when he had his lurcher with him as he lit the fire.
Miss Anderson said: "It was a sustained campaign of arson under cover of darkness."
Referering to victim impact statements, she added: "They all raise similar matters. They discuss the inconvenience and impact of having no vehicle on others, including children.
"One person said their anxiety levels went through the roof.
"The disabled man's wheelchair was in the car and he was left without his car and wheelchair."
Sherrington, 30, of Villette Road, Sunderland, who has 19 previous convictions, pleaded guilty to nine counts of arson and cultivating cannabis after police found a drugs farm at his home.
Judge Julie Clemitson sentenced him to 20 months in prison.
The judge told him: "Most of the vehicles were completely destroyed, resulting in an overall loss of more than £57,000.
"All of the fires were started in residential streets, close to houses so people were woken at night by the sounds and light coming from blazes you caused.
"Your behaviour caused a significant risk of further damage and to personal safety to anyone close by, including the fire service who had to attend.
"It had a considerable impact on those whose cars you destroyed, particularly a man whose wheelchair was destroyed in his vehicle and a man who invested his pension into a new business which was put at significant disadvantage."
The court heard at the time Sherrington was mentally unwell, suffering either a relapse of his paranoid schizophrenia or a drug-induced psychosis.
Richard Herrmann, defending, said: "The mitigation in this case is his guilty plea."
