Jack Diamond's deadline-day loan return to Harrogate Town left team-mate Jack Muldoon in disbelief.
The Sunderland prospect previously enjoyed a spell with the club during the 2019/20 campaign, making 35 appearances and helping Town to win the National League play-offs.
Diamond sealed a season-long loan return to Wetherby Road and spoke of his desire to find 'consistency', with sporting director Kristjaan Speakman describing the move as 'the best course of action' for the 21-year-old's development.
Harrogate's Jack Muldoon played alongside the winger during his first stint, and he admits he could not believe the club had secured a second loan spell.
The striker has sung the praises of the Sunderland loanee, and is confident he will prove to be a valuable player for the Black Cats.
Muldoon told Harrogate Advertiser: "I was texting him every minute to say I couldn’t believe he was coming back
"I thought when he left us the first time that was him gone, pushing on to League One and the Championship because he’s going to be that player.
“He goes either way now and he’s been with Sunderland, who aren’t really a League One club.”
