Sunderland fans verdict after 'lucky' win over Shrewsbury Town

Lee Johnson chalked up his first league win as head coach at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats were the better team in the first half but had to weather a storm from the visitors in the second to hold out for their first league win at home, since November.

Sunderland fans have taken to social media to deliver their verdict, with a number saying they were fortunate to come away with three points.

Mark Marshall said: "We were lucky to win today."

PollyMorph tweeted: "Skin of our teeth. Woeful second half from us."

Safctim said: "High temp first half, knackered second half don’t look fit need energy in midfield O'Nein and Winchester should play alongside Leadbetter."

Tonythekaizer tweeted: "Welcome result, but transition is too slow takes an age to get forward, crying out for pace in the middle of the pitch and up front.

"Need opposition defences running toward their own goal not ours!"

Colin Roberts said: "Welcome three points but how can a team that was so dominant in the first 35 minutes be so incredibly poor second half - couldn’t keep it or pass it.

"But, clean sheet and a win I’m happy with that. We have to be better than that though."

David Smith said: "Important to get that long awaited home win it was."
