Sunderland fans unable to attend first game of pre-season against Spennymoor

Sunderland's first game of pre-season against Spennymoor town will be home fans only.

The Black Cats are set to travel to Brewery Fields on Saturday, July 3, with kick-off at 3pm.

It comes after Monday's announcement from the Government saw them postpone relaxing coronavirus restrictions.

Instead the club entered into discussions with Spennymoor and the local authorities, including the DCMS, and it has been determined that the capacity will be capped at 1,122.

Tickets will only be available to Spennymoor Town season card holders on a first come, first served basis.

Sunderland are set to travel to Spenny's National League North rivals York City on July 21, but no details have been released in relation to fans attending.

More information is set to be released relating to the pre-season schedule in due course.
