Sunderland fans respond as Newcastle sign Callum Wilson on same day as Danny Graham's return

Sunderland fans have hit back at Newcastle United supporters' taunts over Danny Graham.

The Black Cats have announced the return of 35-year-old Graham, who scored just one goal during his last spell at the Stadium of Light.

On the same day, Newcastle spent £20m on Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson, which prompted plenty of mirth from Magpies fans.

Yet, whilst plenty of Sunderland fans admit Graham may not be the same calibre as Wilson, they have argued it is pointless comparing the two players.

Steve B: So Mags are commenting more on Danny Graham than they are on Callum Wilson at the mo?!

Mark Smudgen: Mags signing Callum Wilson on the same day we bring back Danny Graham. And they still believe they've got it bad... but good luck to Danny, he's an option and might do a job for us. But hardly inspriring.

Alex: Breaking: Premier League club signs better player than League One club. You sold that one to the papers yet Sherlock?

Roy Nicol: Mags laughing at a club in League One buying League One standard players, what else do you expect? Sad init.

Benjiboo: I think the important thing is, everyone in the international football community, the country’s league structure and indeed the football world know that its a well understood, indisputable fact that Danny Graham is a vastly superior striker to Callum Wilson. Can’t be argued with.

Frank Chipperfield: Will score more goals than Wilson this season, 100%.

Teejay Cunningham: Bet he scores 20 goals and shuts people up, the lad doesn't need to prove to anyone that he's quality.

John: Welcome back to club, unfinished business... hit the ground running prove the small minority or doubters wrong.
