Sunderland fans react to Charlie Wyke's hat-trick in AFC Wimbledon win

Charlie Wyke's hat-trick gave Lee Johnson just his second win in the league since arriving at the Stadium of Light.

It's the Black Cats first back-to-back wins under the new head coach after a 2-0 win over Port Vale in the EFL Trophy.

Sunderland's number nine put the gloss on an hard fought win against AFC Wimbledon with a brace in the final ten minutes of the game to come away with the match ball.

Black Cats fans have taken to social media to praise the frontman after criticism in recent weeks.

Wilflaz2019 tweeted: "Some thought he should have been finished months ago."

Clint Gibson said: "Mental. Happy for the lad though."

WVintageColours tweeted: "Excellent result and well done to Charlie Wyke. The whole team played a lot better when Diamond came on."

June Middleton said: "Well done senor Charlie."

Antony also poked fun at neighbours Newcastle after Wyke's hat-trick. He said: "Goals scored in 2021: Newcastle - 1 Charlie Wyke - 3."
