Sunderland fans lavish praise on Callum Doyle as Man City loanee makes debut

Sunderland's fans have lavished praise on Manchester City loanee Callum Doyle after he made his debut on Saturday.

Doyle, 17, was promoted from City's under-18s to the under-23s last term and he's since played an important role in the Blues' Premier League 2 triumph, making 12 appearances in that successful campaign, while he also made two appearances in the EFL Trophy.

“We are grateful to Man City for believing in us as a club to be able to help develop somebody like Callum,” Sunderland manager Lee Johnson said on Friday after it was announced that Doyle had joined the League One club on loan.

It didn't take long for Doyle to make his debut for Sunderland, with Johnson starting the youngster in his side's pre-season friendly game against Scottish club Hearts on Saturday afternoon in a game in which the City loanee demonstrated his vast potential.

Despite playing against players much his senior, Doyle made a stellar debut and Sunderland fans were impressed on social media.
