Sunderland fans expect top goal scorer Charlie Wyke to leave Wearside this summer

The majority of Sunderland fans believe Charlie Wyke will leave Wearside this summer, according to the results from our Big SAFC Survey.

The Black Cats' top goalscorer is one of four players to have been opened talks with the club over the possibility of extending his stay at the Stadium of Light.

However, his fine run of form this season has attracted suitors across the United Kingdom as well as abroad.

Middlesbrough, Ipswich, Celtic and CSKA Moscow are some of the clubs that have reportedly registered an interest in the Black Cats ' number nine.

Wyke is weighing up a contract offer from Sunderland after a season which saw him smash in 31 goals for the club.

The results are now in from our Big SAFC Survey and the majority of Sunderland fans are not expecting the 28-year-old to stay beyond this summer.

Out of the 1195 responses to the question, a resounding 944 (79%) people expect Wyke to leave. Only 251 people were confident in the Middlesbrough-born striker extending his stay.

The striker was recently named in the PFA League One Team of the Year alongside out of contract teammate Aiden McGeady.

The duo have both been mainstays in Lee Johnson's side since he arrived at the Stadium of Light and the Black Cats head coach is keen to keep both at the club.
