Sunderland face competition from Doncaster and Burton for Daniel Jebbison

Sunderland are battling it out with Doncaster Rovers and Burton Albion to complete the loan signing of Daniel Jebbison, according to the latest reports.

Alan Nixon of the Sun claims that the Black Cats are weighing up a loan move for the 18-year-old striker.

It's believed that Lee Johnson's side are in pole position to sign the England youth international after Jeibbison was spotted at the Stadium of Light last Friday night for Sunderland's win over Hull.

Sheffield United are keen to send the striker to Wearside based on the fact he'd play in front of large crowds, but the Blades are also looking for assurances that he'd play regularly.

peaking after the game against Hull, Jamie McAllister said: "We need strength in depth and we know that.

"But from the coaching side of things we can only focus on the lads that are here and getting them ready for the games coming up.

"They've acquitted themselves really well in what has been a tough pre-season, the new lads have adapted to our new style of play.

"The big plus for us is the way the youngsters have gone through pre-season, a lot of them who have to play out position at times."

Jebbison made his debut for the Blades in the Premier League last season and became the youngest ever player to score on his first start in the Premier League.
