Sunderland are keeping tabs on Motherwell defender

Motherwell star Stephen O'Donnell could be the target of a bid from English League One side Sunderland.

The Black Cats reportedly believe they can sign the Scotland international, who has two years left on his contract, for under £500,000.

Right-back O'Donnell was a stand-out in the 0-0 draw with England at Wembley during the European Championships, which has attracted a number of suitors, and the former Killie star has earned over 20 caps since making his international debut in 2018.

Motherwell are preparing for the start of their Premiership campaign with their curtain-raiser against Hibs at Fir Park on Sunday afternoon.
