Sunderland approach Hibs over in-form striker Kevin Nisbet

Lee Johnson has reportedly inquired about the valuation of Hibernian striker Kevin Nisbet, reports the ScottishSun.

The new head coach at the Stadium of Light is keen to add to his squad as he attempts to kick-start Sunderland's season.

Hibs splashed out £250,000 to bring the 23-year-old to Easter Road in the summer and he's already netted and impressive 12 goals in 24 games this season since joining from Dunfermline.

Nisbet's impressive displays have caught the eye of a number of other English clubs, including struggling Premier League side, Sheffield United.

Former Black Cats boss, Jack Ross is keen to keep hold of his prized asset who signed a four-year deal just five months ago.

Nisbet has scored an impressive 69 goals in just 102 games over the past two-and-a-half years.

He began his career at Partick, before joining Raith in 2018 where he scored 34 goals in 46 games. His impressive goal scoring return prompted a move to Championship side Dunfermline where he hit 23 in 32 matches before Covid-19 stopped play..
