Sunderland and Sheffield United target Kevin Nisbet 'flattered' by transfer speculation

Sunderland and Sheffield United target Kevin Nisbet has said recent transfer speculation is "flattering" but is choosing to ignore it.

The Hibernian striker is in fine form for Jack Ross' side this season, scoring 12 goals in 24 appearances.

His form is understood to have attracted the attention of Premier League strugglers Sheffield United, with the Black Cats also in the hunt for a striker.

Speaking to the BBC, Nisbet said: "I've had it the last two seasons and I don't take much notice.

"When the window opens and there's a striker scoring goals and performing well, there's obviously going to be interest.

"It's flattering but I just ignore it all."

The 23-year-old signed for the Hibees following two prolific years in the lower leagues of Scotland with Dunfermline and Raith Rovers.

A fee of £250,000 saw him move to Easter Road in the summer, but Jack Ross is keen on keeping his in-form striker who signed a four-year deal.
