The Sunderland International Airshow attracts crowds of up to one million, according to organisers Sunderland City Council, and they need to be prepared to handle the parking issues that creates.
There is a park and ride scheme and lots of public transport but for those passing through, or who depend on the car, you will need to be aware of the weekend road closures.
The seafront Whitburn Bents Road A183 and pier area will be closed betwen the Bungalow Cafe & Morrisons roundabout Friday July 26 from 12 noon to 11pm and on Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28 between 9am and 8pm.
There will be one-way traffic and a tow zone at Mereknolls Road and Princes Avenue.
There will be stewards for permit parking only at the residential area around Roker Park from Friday to Sunday and at the South Bents and Deepdene residential areas on Saturday only.
