Extra buses and Metro trains will run this weekend to get visitors to and from the Sunderland International Airshow,
With thousands expected to head into Sunderland this weekend, parking can be difficult, while extra cars clog up the streets on a busy day for the city.
Nexus has arranged extra transport for the weekend, which provides an alternative to the airshow's car park, and park & ride schemes .
Getting to Sunderland Airshow by Metro
The nearest Metro station to the airshow site is Seaburn, on the Metro's green line.
Nexus says it is laying on extra Metros, but warns that visitors may be faced with a queue at Seaburn when they try to leave.
Customer Services Director at Nexus, Huw Lewis said: "Metro plays a key role getting thousands of people to the Airshow, and we will have extra trains running to cope with the demand.
"This is one of Metro’s busiest weekends of the year. We expect services to be busy over the weekend, particularly at Seaburn station, with queues following the event.
"Extra Metros will be running, but my message to customers is to please leave plenty of time for your journey."

Stagecoach
An express Stagecoach service to the Sunderland International Airshow will run on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 July, providing a direct link between Sunderland City Centre and airshow.
Tickets cost £2.10 for a single or £3.50. The 510 service calls at Fawcett Street, Wheatsheaf, Stadium of Light Metro, Seaburn Metro and the Airshow (Seaburn Recreation Ground) and will run every few minutes from around 10am until 7pm. Free national concessionary passes, Day Rovers, Network One passes and Sunderland dayrider and megarider tickets are also valid to travel on the 510 service.
