Sunderland 'agree' loan deal for Everton's Nathan Broadhead

Sunderland have agreed a deal to sign Everton forward Nathan Broadhead, according to reports.

Freelancer Pete O'Rourke claims that the Black Cats have agreed a deal to sign the Toffees forward, after rumours surfaced online yesterday evening.

Lee Johnson's side are in the market for an additional striker after Charlie Wyke left Wearside to join Wigan Athletic, while Will Grigg's future hangs in the balance.

Broadhead, who is capable of playing across the front three, had a hugely productive Premier League 2 campaign for the Toffees last season, scoring 11 goals and grabbing three assists in 18 appearances.

He's scored 17 and assisted seven in 59 Everton matches which prompted him to make his Premier League debut for the Toffees last season, away at Brighton & Hove Albion and also has experience playing in the Europa League.

The 5ft10 striker is no stranger to League One having spent the 2019/20 season on loan with Burton Albion - making 22 appearances and scoring three for the Brewers - albeit from the wing.

Football Insider claims that the Toffees forward is to have a medical at the Academy of Light in the coming days.
