Sunderland AFC respond after 'fight' breaks out at Spice Girls gig at the Stadium of Light

Sunderland AFC has responded after a fight broke out at the Spice Girls gig at the Stadium of Light.

Gemma Coburn was attending the gig after getting a last minute ticket for Thursday's sell-out gig.

But she said a fight broke out in front of her which tainted the expierence.

She filmed the incident and a video has been shared on social media.

She said: "It was terrible.

"We left a bit earlier so we could get away - we just wanted to get out."

A Sunderland AFC spokesperson said it was "an isolated incident, swiftly dealt with by stewards."

And Northumbria Police is now reportedly probing the clip, watched thousands of times on Facebook.

The club spokesperson said Thursday's gig had been a "safe and successful event".

The sell-out crowd lapped up the show as Sporty, Ginger, Baby and Scary Spice played a hit-packed set which helped boost the North East's economy to the tune of £7m.

But The Sun reports that Northumbria Police are now looking into the clip from an otherwise successful show.

"We have not received any report of a fight inside the stadium but we are aware of the video and will carry out enquiries," said a force spokesperson.

"We would add that more than 50,000 people were in the Stadium of Light for the concert last night and there was just one ejection.

"The vast majority behaved impeccably and enjoyed a fantastic night of music."
