April 13--The summary
Despite a limited bench because of injuries, the Cubs rallied for three runs in the ninth Sunday to seize a 6-5 win against the Rockies. The bullpen pitched 42/3 scoreless innings and was rewarded when Dexter Fowler hit a two-run homer off LaTroy Hawkins with two outs and an 0-2 count in the ninth. Miguel Montero posted his first hit as a member of the Cubs -- an RBI double with one out in the second.
At the plate
Manager Joe Maddon adjusted the lineup and put Anthony Rizzo in the second spot while sliding Jorge Soler to the third spot. But the Cubs stranded five runners in scoring position in the first seven innings.
On the mound
Kyle Hendricks missed a chance to get out of trouble in the second when he couldn't handle Daniel Descalso's grounder to the mound that resulted in an infield hit and led to DJ LeMahieu's triple and an RBI single by Charlie Blackmon. But closer Hector Rondon induced Carlos Gonzalez to pop to second with the tying run at third to preserve the win.

Hendricks picked off Blackmon at first with a 3-2 count on Carlos Gonzalez for the first out in the first.
