Quick start
Kane scored on the first shot of a game when he wired a shot from the right circle past Mrazek just 21 seconds in.
Chris Kuc's Three Stars

2. Crawford: Extended his personal winning streak to three by making 33 saves.
3. Rozsival: Veteran defenseman also blocked two shots and was a plus-1 in 17:03 of ice time.
Big number

The quote
"I thought our guys did a great job keeping things to the outside and clearing rebounds. It's not necessarily how many shots you give up, it's the quality. I think we should be able to stop them if we keep shooting from the outside, but we're really limiting team's chances from the inside." -- Crawford
"First shot, first goal. It's nice to start that way. They probably owned us in the second, but we played a lot better in the first and the third, and finished the game off the right way." -- Toews
"We had a good start, they get back in the game with a good second period, 'Crow' was good again and our special teams were like we saw in Detroit: very good." -- Hawks coach Joel Quenneville
"I thought the guys showed up. I thought that we played well. They're a good team. You slip for a second and they'll put it in the back of the net. I thought we handled ourselves well, we obviously, ... didn't get the outcome we wanted (Sunday) , but we'll regroup and move on." -- Wings defenseman Mike Green
