Sunday's Der Kaiser update

Der Kaiser in his tank - hit refresh to see the latest picture (one new every minute)

Der Kaiser is our sunset wagtail platy fish, with distinctive black, red and gold colouring. Every day we pit the collective football expertise of you, the Guardian readers, against him.

It's not been a good few days for our fishy friend. He bet on Togo beating France by a single goal, while you humans correctly had France down for a two goal victory, albeit at a modest 8-13. Then he went for a 0-0 draw between Germany and Sweden on Saturday, but saw another £10 taken out his fins by Germany's victory.

Can he turn things around? After that run of bad luck, it's not surprising Der Kaiser's gone for a conservative bet for tomorrow, saying Italy will win by a goal against Australia. You, the humans, perhaps think Australia's physical challenge might be too much, and say Viduka and co will win by a clear two goals.

Next is Spain v France. Place your vote here, and keep your eyes on the blog - and the live image, above - for more insight from Der Kaiser.

Each day the People and the Fish make a £10 charity bet. Oddschecker will donate any winnings, with a minimum of £500, to the Saving Grace Foundation. We'll bring you a prize fund update just as soon as we've worked it out.
