At the end of 1978 the BBC’s VT team compiled a highlights reel of sweary bloopers from its vast yearly output. Bros: After the Screaming Stops

With a title resembling a horror movie, this very good rockumentary on Bros’s comeback contains some grim moments: they may be identical twins, but Luke and Matt Goss are worlds apart. Hardy’s tale of passionate 19th-century country folk gets a handsome treatment. Carey Mulligan is marvellous as young Bathsheba, juggling her three suitors – Michael Sheen’s Mr Boldwood, Matthias Schoenaerts’s Gabriel Oak and Tom Sturridge’s Sergeant Troy – while trying to maintain her independence.
